YS Falls opened in 1992. It is a nature-based attraction offering the opportunity to experience the beauty of the waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens and magnificent trees.

There are seven waterfalls, several which cascade into natural pools. Some areas are fairly rocky and river shoes are recommended.

Lifeguards on site, indicate which areas are for swimming, however, being able to swim is a requirement. There is a natural pool, fed by underground and above ground springs, which is more suitable for children and others unable to swim.

Appleton Estate, one of world’s oldest distilleries, has recently been refreshed with a $7.2 million renovation to its visitor center. Re-named the Joy Spence Appleton Estate Rum Experience after the first woman in the world to hold the title of Master Blender, the attraction tantalizes all of the senses through its comprehensive tour and “only-here” exclusives.

The tour begins with a complimentary cocktail in the luxurious Welcome Centre, followed by a film showcasing the history of rum and the estate. Visitors learn about the sugar production process, taste the cane and extract the juice themselves, travel through ageing houses, get a panoramic view of the breathtaking Nassau Valley from an observation tower, and sample three premium Appleton Estate blends in the tasting room. From the tour to the expansive outdoor grounds, visitors can feel the sophistication, heritage, and quality of the brand.
